Climate Change will ruin us
Today we celebrate Blog Action Day. .. an annual event that unites the world’s bloggers in posting about the same issue on the same day. Their aim is to raise awareness and trigger a global discussion. This year the subject is climate change.. So here goes our contribution..
What would you do if a group of professionals called you and told you that your house was in danger and you have to take urgent action if you want to keep holding on to it? I imagine that after the first shock you would start to fix it as soon as possible and amend what you have done wrong to get into this situation because it is the home where you and your family live and you do not want to see it destroyed or deteriorated.
For many years, scientists have been warning us about the peril we face if we continue emitting an excessive amount of toxic gases into the environment that can produce the much-touted greenhouse effect and will end up with global warming that will hold dire consequences for everyone. This planet, our true home, where we live is undergoing a change in its metabolism and directly affects us all.
The earth is alive and like humans undergoes changes, it ages, gets sick and reacts accordingly. Its illness is a result of our negligence, the failure of governments to control industries and of those industries contempt for the laws that regulate them, make the problem worse every day..
We are beginning to see the long term consequences that were anticipated, climate changes that completely alter the ecosystem of different countries, changing temperatures and rain on unusual dates which damages crops, disrupts the reproductive cycle of animals, tides changes that affect marine life, a thaw of glaciers pushing up sea levels and changing currents and hundreds of other factors that are detrimental to the normal evolution of terrestrial life.
I think it is our duty to speak up in favor of finding a cure for our “old home” let´s all unite to bequeath a healthy world full of life for us and our grandchildren. Form part of any association to defend these principles. Let’s give a little love to this little blue planet that hosts us.
