The Three Kings are almost here

The three Kings are almost here, and with them hopes and innocence for the smallest members of the house, that at this moment are waiting with anticipation (those with small children at home know what I’m talking about), and for me, it also brings up the same dilemma, where do I take them to see the parade.

One of the best parades in center city Alicante, due to its close proximity to Playa San Juan, but with small children, it is sometimes an ordeal, because you need to be there well ahead of time to make sure you have a good spot.

Then, there are other alternatives, that are also close, such as San Juan pueblo, which is a pretty modest parade, but each year there are more people who join in to watch, and each year they improve more and more with small investments..You can also choose to go to El Campello, there, the Three Kings come via boat, which makes the parade an early one starting at 16:30 o 17:00. I have visited on several occasions and I must say it is pretty good.

But, without a doubt one of the best parades has to be in Alcoy, which has the oldest parade in Spain, if you are adventurous, have warm coats, and some patience this is a great option. You will witness an spectacular show.. It all starts on the 4th with the official announcement that the Kings are on their way, and will make their entrance to the town..The Three King night is light up with the help of the pages and torches, and with tall ladders they climb up on to windows, leaving gifts and to all the kids which are in awe of all this excitement.

Whatever you decide to do, from here in Playa San Juan we wish you a very happy Three King Day..Let’s see if the little ones have been good all year long..
