The Albufereta Rontonda has a new look
The Albufereta neighborhood has a new look, finally the new fountain at the center rotanda was inagurated a couple of days ago. The rotanda now holds a sculpture designed by Eusebio Sempere, the great Alicantino artist. Mayor Sonia Castedo presided over the inauguration accompanied by the ex mayor Luís días Alperi and other local celebrities. The rotonda is named after the Isleta, but might be better known as the “Pyramid rotonda” alluding to the pyramid sculpture placed there.
This project was propelled by the now mayor who at the time of the beginnings of the project was just a counsel for urbanism. This new sculpture those come with some controversy due to its very high price tag..
