Christmas is the perfect time to give back to our community
Without warning Christmas has arrived. How do I know? very simple, just walking around Mercadona the other day I found all sorts of turron and polvorones throughout the store as well as the decorations. And today as soon as I got home there was another one of those toy catalogs, this time from Toys R Us, not even directed to me but to our children, so they could begin their long list to Santa Clause or the Three Kings (or in our case both).
With the Holidays comes the stress of gift giving and and every year it seems the catalogs and advertising start earlier and earlier, as if there was no “crisis”, Spain is slowly becoming like other countries I know that are on their way to full time consumers. So, I think it is very important that we as adult teach children what these Holidays are all about, and its not about toys, it’s about giving thanks for all the good things we have received through the year, for our family and specially our health.
Let’s try to make change this holiday season, let us in Playa San Juan and around the world give back this Christmas. You can do so in many ways, by donating time or volunteering in hospitals, retirement homes, shelters etc around the community. I’m sure it will be one of the best gifts you can give and best of all the best gift anyone will receive.
