Dress up, but be safe on Halloween 09

Halloween is almost here, the day of witches, fear, pumpkins, haunted houses, bats, skeletons and anything that causes terror. The truth is that this pagan festival of Celtic origin was not very popular in Spain until a few years ago, but now each year there are more and more celebrations.

As we all know the goal is to dress up the kids and go out trick or treat to get candy, sweets or money if you can get it. Then there is always a party... This is all great and healthy fun, however some precautions should be taken especially with children. Here are some tips:

-Never let the kids go out alone, they should always be accompanied by an adult.

“Much attention when crossing the streets (most of the costumes are black and at night it becomes more difficult to be seen).

“Do not let the children eat any candy until you have looked at it and discard those not wrapped in their original paper.

Finally here is a list of stores where you can buy costumes if you don’t decide to make them yourselves…
