Day of the Region of Valencia
Today is the 9th of October a regional holiday in the Valencian Community, Sant Dionís, or the commemoration of the triumphant arrival of Jaime I, to the city of Valencia from his return from expelling the Moors.
It is also considered as the day of lovers in Valencia, the tradition states that men must give women “the mocadora,“ a handkerchief that holds products made from mazapan and piulet. So all you men out there you better make sure you go to your nearest bakery and find some of these goodies for your loved one..
