Volvo Ocean Race will Start from Alicante
Occasionally we get good news and the one we are going to comment on today is great! According to Absolut Alicante the President of the Generalitat Valenciana D. Francisco Camps has signed an agreement for the Volvo Ocean Race to take its departure from the port of Alicante for the next three editions.
This prestigious worldwide race , will not only put us on the front pages of all newspapers giving us needed publicity and to better promote our area, but also attract thousands of fans and tourists with consequent economic benefit to our weakened economy.
Apparently the organizers of this event considered that last years Alicante’s organization was very successful as well as the excellence of the local infrastructure and the welcome received.
