Porrate de San Anton and the blessing of the animals
From the 9th of this month until next Sunday night January 18th , the traditional “Porrate de San Antón,” will be celebrated in the neighborhood with the same name in Alicante.
This Benacantil neighborhood is located at the foot of the mountain and celebrates their patron saint with festivities and activities for the entire family.
But without doubt, the big day of the holiday is on Sunday the 18th, as in the bull ring arena at 11 am, will begin the blessing of the animals.
Every year large numbers of people congregate, and bring their pets so that they can be blessed by the priest of the Church of Mercy.
It is a beautiful show for animal lovers, as you can see all sorts of species, from horses to dogs and cats, iguanas, birds etc, Kids love to see all the animals gathered in one place.
So, from La Playa San Juan, we invite you to bring your pet next Sunday January 18 th along with the whole family to enjoy this traditional event, which undoubtedly will delight all.

Por cierto, en la página del ayuntamiento sobre la inscripción de animales al concurso:
*Desde el día 13 y hasta el 17, entre las 18:00 y las 20:00 h., inscripción de animales en la Cafetería Copacabana.
Pero según tengo entendido la Cafetería Copacabana está en benidorm.. :/ ¿Hay alguna en Alicante? ¿Sabéis donde es?

Y, si, hay una cafetería Copacabana en Alicante, está justo detrás de la Plaza de Toros, frente a la Iglesia de la Misericordia, así es que date prisa e inscribe a tu animalito, y lo dicho muchas gracias por leernos y un abrazo.
