New Casino in the port of Alicante, not Vegas
Horror!, I had heard about the facade of the New Casino that has recently opened in the Port Area of Alicante near the Explanda. People commenting that it was tacky, too colorful, that this kind of “Las Vegas” design did not match anything around it and so on….
But this morning, on my bus ride to Alciante, I almost had a heart attack. What was that ugly thing, Oh my God!!
I understand that the casinos in Las Vegas, are very colorful, since there are many of them, and they have to draw attention (I have never been to Vegas but I doubt very much there is anything as ugly as this there) but this is Alicante not Las Vegas, and there is only one casino.
I don’t even want to imagine what it’s like inside and at this point I really don’t care. What if do care about is that this horrible facade completely brakes the charm of the area and what is worse, this is permanent and, we are going to have to see it for ever and ever … (What were they thinking!)

A mi personalmente el casino me gusta, vi la fachada una noche toda iluminada y es una pasada. Mucha gente que la critica seguro que luego irá a gastarse mas de un euro allí asi que…..
Es un casino y por lo tanto tiene que destacar la fachada y su iluminación, tiene que atraer a los clientes.
Ademas con los tiempos que corren y la crisis que estamos pasando y la que nos tiene que venir gracias hay que dar porque va a dar mucho trabajo a mucha gente.

Tienes mucha razón, el casino va a dar muchisimo trabajo en esta zona que es lo que necesitamos, nosotros solo opinamos en este post sobre la estética del edificio que personalmente no nos gusta. En otro post vamos a escribir en mas detalle sobre todos los beneficios de este nuevo casino.

This is the ugliest building I have ever seen. This is an embarrassment to Alicante. Who approved this? They should be fired now. Let’s make a real first class casino to help the city raise funds, not some piece of junk like this. Get some real entertainment as well.
Anonimo. La iluminación de esa fachada atrae con la misma intensidad que la chaqueta con lentejuelas de un cantante de piano-bar en benidorm. Casposo casposo

Si no recuerdo mal, en esos locales habían pubs, cafeterías, etc… ¿eran autoservicios, no había gente trabajando?. No creo que un casino sea la respuesta a ninguna crisis.
De todas formas, con el tiempo cambiarán la decoración. En cuanto empiece a llegar más gente y la dirección deje de pensar de que eso de que es feo lo dicen cuatro gatos, se cambiará. O alguién con más influencia que un blog.
Nadie niega las ventajas “turísticas” de tener un casino que le de glamour a la ciudad. Pero eso no es glamour.
Cuando venga algun amigo a Alicante, intentaré evitar pasar cerca cuando sus neones brillen. Por verguenza más que nada. Con las cosas bonitas que se pueden hacer
