Entierro de la Sardina y comienzo de la Cuaresma
So after the madness and unrestrained of Mr. Carnival Ms Lent comes on its heels, and begins her reign, burying the sardine, today 17th February, Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent.
The wake of the late sardine will begin at the central bus station at 22 o’clock, and there will be rolls and mistela wine, so it your sorrow is not so bitter … and it ends in the Plaza del Carmen, where the poor Sardine will be incinerated, between weeping and sorrow …
Afterwards there will be a live performance by Pelandruska, and it will be the start time for meditation and austerity of Lent itself.
