Selection of the “Bellea del Foc” 2009
Tomorrow Saturday May 2nd the selection of the Bellea del Foc 2009 in the Alicante Bull Ring will take place (where you can buy tickets), I can’t believe Hogueras are just around the corner again!!
It seems this year they have changed the rules and to be able to take on be able to take charge of the tittle, there is no age limit to the applicants, and it is not forbidden to be a mother (it’s about time, we come into the 21st century); and this year one of the candidates also has a daughter who is running for the junior tittle.
Everything else will be more of the same, most of the candidates have university studies, something normal nowadays (I don’t know why people are still surprised when they find out beauties study) and they have a medium age of 22 years old.
Anyway, this act is a prelude to the fiestas, and of the coming of the warm weather, ( which has not decided to get here yet), and Sunday we will have a new Bellea del Foc which will represent our city throughout the Spanish nation.
Ya era hora que se quitaran tanto prejuicios, aunque supongo que siguen dando el título de bellea a quien más interese o más dinero ponga encima de la mesa y eso dudo que cambie.
