Benidorm reaching high

Benidorm has initiated the construction of which will be the highest apartment building in Europe, 55 stories with a height of 200 meters and will be opened in 2010. This summer city is not new to this type of buildings and there are others like her in the Neguri Win, Cibeles and Neptune, all of them of considerable heights, especially the first one that rises to 155 meters.

I am not opposed to progress at all and I think that when cities can’t grow horizontally, they have no choice but to do it vertically. I just hope that the Promoter Olga Urban SL, Architects Perez-Guerra and Olcina-Raduán, as well as the authorities have permission for conducting this work and have taken into account the infrastructure of the area because once the Intempo, (the name of this residential complex) is complete and needs water, electricity, roads, sewers, etc., etc..the city will need to plan accordingly.

The facilities will also include, swimming pools, gyms, solarium, tennis courts, gardens and much more. I have no doubt that this will take Benidorm up one notch in the international tourist rankings.

For my part and not to put down other places, for my holidays I prefer something quieter and more “horizontal” which is why I come to Playa San Juan in Alicante. If you haven’t been here yet, what are you waiting for!!
