Goodbye Sangueta, goodbye
It seems that the much longed Palacios de Congresos de Alicante, will begin construction in early 2009.
I think that a city like Alicante, which looks to the future and hopes to be a model for its community and the country couldn’t continue without something as vital as this.
The biggest difficulty of this project was figuring out its location, because a complex of such size requires space, good communications and that its surroundings be attractive to its customers, and finally a spot has been found, in the Barrio de la Sangueta, and that is where it hurts me personally because this is the place where I spent many hours of my childhood, because my paternal grandparents lived there.
I’m not sure if anyone knows but these houses of this neighborhood were for the port workers, and were not theirs at the time, as time passed by as I understand they were able to purchase them, but in the case of my my grandparents on their deaths, their house passed into the hands of others.
There was no better place than the balcony of that house to see the fireworks from the playa del Cocó.
Anyway, I just hope, as part of my childhood is demolished in pursuit of modernity and development, that the residents of this neighborhood find that it was worth it and that it improves their way of life, as for me, the day it disappears, I will probably shed some tears (that’s just me), and I will always remember the happy moments of my childhood.

Hola Nuria no conocía tu afinidad con el lugar….. imagino que si debe ser algo triste….
esperemos que al menos quede bien tofo al final…. yo tengo fotos del lugar especialmente las casas antiguas o abandonadas del lugar.

Querida Nuria, siento mucho tu tristeza, por poco me saltan las lágrimas, muy emotiva.
Mi intervención aquí es para poner los puntos sobre las íes ya que hay un empeño en mezclar los churros con las merinas que a mí ya me enferma.
SANGUETA es el nombre de la família que fundó el barrio SANGUETA. Nada tiene que ver con LA CANTERA (lo que creo que tú te vienes a referir).
Insisto, por favor, no mezclemos términos que NADA tienen que ver.
LA CANTERA NO ES SANGUETA.
Muchísimas gracias por tu información, que seguramente sea correcta. Pero creo que la situacion de ambos barrios es muy muy parecida ya que ambos, van a ser demolidos, y solamente están separados por unos metros.
Siento mucho que te enfermes por algo que únicamente tenía la intención de dar un homenaje a un barrio que va a desaparecer, Sangueta, Cantera, llámalo como quieras. Pero aún así, te pido disculpas por mi error, y publicaré un nuevo post rectificando.

haces bien en pegarle la bronca a la de sangueta porque tienes razon eso no llega ni a barrio visca la cantera uno que se tiro mas 30 años en ese fabuloso barrio no ay otro igual que no se compare la de sangueta
mas quisiera sangueta compararse a la cantera cuatro casa derruidas a eso le llamas barrio por favor no cuentes milongas seria en la epoca de franco por que hoy quedan cuatros casa y llenas de gatos
