Mother’s Day May 3rd

Just as we published a post about Fathers day so must we write about Mother’s Day, that like every year here in Spain it is celebrated the first Sunday of May (In the States it is the second Sunday) so that means on May 3rd.

If you read my post about Fathers Day, I think you know my opinion. I don’t like comemorative days, no Valentine’s Day, no Eath Day note even Moon Day, none of that..

Crisis and Real Estate

That we are all in crisis, we are all very aware (and suffering the effects) but today I would like to share an article I found the other day in Finanzas. Com that offers a couple of stadistical data, that may be a concern for the residents of Playa San Juan.

This report tell us that the parts most affected by falling prices in the real estate industry were the coastal towns, among which we find ourselves. A few years ago it was unthinkable to us to obtain properties at prices that now exist in these places. Here are some examples:

XIII Kite Festival

Another year more Alicante celebrates its XIII Kite Festival which will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of May int the Postiguet beach at 10:30 in the morning. This is a celebration you can´t miss, your children will be in awe looking up at the skyp and all the beautiful colors it offers. A magical day for the entire family.

In a place so emblematic of the city as is the beach, there will be more than a hundred kites in the air from 10 teams from Spain, Italy, Belgium and Germany, which will delight all attendees flying gadgets from 20 to 30 meters.

This exhibit is open to all workshops, exhibitions and free flight, so from Playa San Juan, we invite you to participate in any of the many fun activities (especially for kids) and enjoy a day outdoors, with the entire family.

IBI due in May

Yes, the dreaded IBI is here… Every May the same old thing time to pay our property taxes.. Sometimes we forget all about it and boom, the bill comes in and scares us to death.. With these times of crisis, paying this bill may be difficult for many families who are struggling to just pay the mortgage, community fees and feed their families.. But it is part of the responsibility of owning a home. you can also make the payment in two parts if that helps a little.
