Monica Naranjo in Campello

Published by under campello,concerts,entertainment

We hope that in a few years Playa San Juan will have a budget for more concerts, for now we have to settle for a few summer concerts and for the rest of our entertainment we need to go elsewhere. With that said, I’m very excited to annouce that Mónica Naranjo will come to our neighboring city El Campello Saturday, September 13th.

She will present her “Tarantula” tour which will be the only one within the Alicante province in the Municipal Soccer field of El Vincle. The concert will begin at 21:30 hours and you can purchase tickets at the following locations:

* SERVICAM (www.servicam.com (902 44 43 00))

* www.ticktackticket.com

* FNAC, Carrefour

* Café Loft (Playa Muchavista, El Campello)

* El Passatge Bar (Paseo Maritimo, El Campello)

* Barceló Viajes (C/Dr. DFleming, El Campello)

This is a real treat don’t miss it!!

Vacation traffic end of summer 2008

Published by under transportation,tourists,travel

And so like all good things come to an end, so has the summer of 2008. We have all had our share of fun, lots of sun and relaxation, but now it is time to return home. Most visitors to the Costa Blanca in general Alicante and La Playa San Juan arrived here in car and must now try to figure out when is the best time to depart as to not catch too much traffic.

According to traffic statistics there will be around 2,386,000 vehicles (906,000 in the Alicante region) in the roads of the Valencian Community starting Friday the 29th of August at 15:00 hours all the way to next Sunday. There will be certain restrictions to vehicles transporting dangerous materials and other vehicles needing special permissions during this time.

We must remember to rest the night before departing, take our time, don’t speed and stop as many times as needed to rest. There is no rush to get home..Make sure your vacations end well. Be safe and we will see you all next summer.

Costa Blanca Travel information

We receive several emails everyday from tourists who are interested in traveling to this area of Spain, in particular the Costa Blanca and have many questions regarding travel, accomodations, places to go, things to do, tips for traveling with children etc.. We are happy to announce that we are preparing our very own Playa San Juan travel guide that we will offer free to those who are interested.

In the mean time I found a great website that already has great travel guides of the Costa Blanca area. Alicante-Spain offers you these free travel guides as well as a newsletter by simply entering your name and email.. It’s as simple as that, I just signed up and downloaded the travel guide which is full of very usefull information. We at Playa San Juan want to congratulate Hubert and his staff for an outstanding job , it is websites like his that makes us proud to be part of the Costa Blanca community.

Fair Play

Published by under sports,famous People

The 2008 Olympics held in china are over and we must say that the opening and closing ceremonies were spectacular. We saw many great feats such as Michael Phelps 8 gold medals and world records and Usain Bolt’s 9.69 world record time in the100 metres. Are these guys are human?, And we can’t forget Spain’s silver medal win in basketball making the Americans sweat a little. From here at La Playa San Juan we want to  congratulate to all of them and thank them for the pride they have given our country.

There were also those moments we would like to forget such as the kick that the Cuban Angel Mato the athlete which was involved in the discipline of Taekwondo, and was disqualified and banned from international competition for the rest of his life for kicking the referee when he didn’t like the call that was made..I’m glad that incidents like this are very few..
