In past posts we have given you tips on how to protect yourselves on the beach, from the sun, vendors and even children and their balls and I think it is about time we speak a bit about defending the Beach from us. There we go to have fun, get cool, relax and get together with friends, and the sea generously offers us all that, but sometimes we do not care about taking care of it and defending it. Papers, glass and plastic bottles, paper bags, waste and whatever else you can imagine is left on the sand. All these things are not only dangerous and make the beach dirty, but they also cause pollution in the environment.
If we all strive just a little bit we could at least maintain our Playa San Juan in “good health” and highlight its natural beauty. Lets emulate Kobe Bryant and Gasol and “lets hoop” papers and other waste into the bins where they should be.

If you’re one of those people who doesn’t like to exercise every day, but know that it is necessary, and are not willing to go to a gym what can you do? Well, going to the beach might be a good alternative for you. Swimming is probably one of the most comprehensive exercises that exists, you can swim at least 15 minutes, it will help all the muscles of your body and in addition to the circulatory system, respiratory and your heart; A very complete workout. Another good exercise on the beach is to walk for about 25 to 30 minutes at a light pace, there is no need to run, it will be beneficial to your leg muscles, respiration, circulation and helps reduce the signs of diabetes, among many other things.
Playa San Juan is the ideal place to practice these “sports”, not only do you have an ample beach with nice sand, you have a beautiful promenade. Now you have no excuse, go ahead the beach is ….. good for your health!

The times of mom and pop grocery stores have gone down in history, the few that remain are like a nostalgic evocation of an age where sales boys, served housewives one by one, knew their names and their preferences; It was a delight to place an order. Today everything has changed, the system is more efficient, we choose what we want, compare prices and quality and can buy everything we need, including meat, fish, vegetables, seafood, etc. in just one place.
Mercadona is a wonderful example of this type of Supermarket. It has branches distributed strategically in mind in every city, almost all have their own parking lots, they offer purchases with their own credit card which allows you to accommodate your payments, you can make purchases online and they will then deliver them to your home, they also have their own brand of products, (Hacendado) which are cheaper and have the same quality as other name brand products . In Playa San Juan, we have several of these establishments that are ready to serve you.

The Council man is determined to re open an old streetcar line that went from San Juan-Alicante-Mutxamiel, moving ahead to Santa Faz. I think this is a Magnificent idea, anything that helps expand the forms of communication in our area must be welcomed, we depend largely on tourism and for that we need to provide tourist easier ways to get around so they come back and visit us more often.
At the moment it is not decided whether such a route will be through a bus or tram, there are many things that need to be thought of with current construction for other transportation methods under way. But we will be sure to keep you updated.
