Casa Filo Restaurant

Published by under food,entertainment,restaurants

One of the main dishes in Spanish is undoubtedly The Paella, we could also say that accompanied by the Caldo Gallego and Fabada they are the ambassadors of our country in the entire world; It is so widely known and appreciated that there is no need for translation to any other language. Paella is the typical dish of the Levante region and can be defined in a simple way, yellow rice with whatever you want, although its elaboration is nothing simple, it requires extensive experience to achieve that exact point and perfect flavor.

If you’re looking for the right place to enjoy an excellent Paella you can’t miss the Casa Filo restaurant in Playa San Juan Alicante, managed by its owners and with extensive experience in all types of rice dishes such as seafood paella, rabbit, chicken, mixed, vegetable. etc.. and if you want a particular ingredient added all you need to do is ask the chef and I’m sure he would be pleased to add it for you. Of course, Casa Filo also has other dishes and appetizers as well as some exquisite desserts and be sure to try the Ali Oli completely homemade.

We sugges making reservations ahead of time:

Famous visits (Globetrotters) in Alicante

Published by under Alicante,sports,famous People

globetrottersinalicante.jpg

If there is a sport that is electrifying it has to be basketball and if you have ever seen an NBA or CBA game where giants strut the stadium at an impressive speed and pass the ball with such synchronicity almost knowing where their partner is at all times, and with a small jump (no more is needed because each one measures at least over 2.20 meters.) a shot is passed through the hoop all this in seconds. This sport is like that.

However there is a group called the Harlem Globetrotters  that for more than 80 years have turned  basketball into a powerful show. The principle is the same, but the rules of the game are adpated to their liking creating comic situations, such as a ball disappearing, shots thrown after a rebound on the floor and above all they interact with the public and create extreme situations that end with laughter above all. But be warned that despite all these jokes are extraordinary players who could be part of any first class team.

We recommend you don’t miss this opportunity to see them live. They will be Alicante on April 24, 2008.

Brincos Hinchables boucing houses for kids in Playa San Juan

brincoshimchablesplayasanju.jpg

Last weekend we took our kids to Fontana for some ice cream at cucuruchone and some fun..When we got there we found ourselves with a huge jumping house.. Our children begged us to join in the fun and of course we couldn’t say no. For a euro each our kids enjoyed jumping and laughing for about 15 minutes or so.. All the children were having a ball and I thought to myself what a great idea.

I looked at the name of the bouncy house and found that it was called brincoshinchables so as soon as I got home I checked them out on the internet. It seems the company is owned by a husband and wife team from Argentina who started this company that offers more than just bouncy houses. They are a children’s entertainment mobile unit and offer, entertainment for birthday parties, special events, school events, shopping center events, they even offer great birthday cakes..

I will definitely keep them in mind for the next Urba event!!!

House call electrician

Published by under small business

electricianinplayasanjuanal1.jpg

What would we do without electricity or outlets to plug in our computers, lamps, cell phones… I can’t even think about it.. Today, I was without internet for a couple of hours and I thought I was going to go crazy..That is why it is important to always have the phone number of a good electrician at hand.

Our favorite is Juan Enrique Hernandez Martin, he set up all our electrical needs when we moved in our new home and in my husbands business. He is always on time, prepared, always fixes what he needs to quickly, and is very personable. He is a jack of all trades and can come up with solutions to almost any problem. He has a lot of experience in working with fiber optics, air conditioner, antennas and much more.

He is working on a new website but for the mean time you can call him at 679060944….

As we all know The Costa Blanca is one of the best spots for water sports in that, surfing included. Many tourist flock our area to join in the surfing fun.

That is why I was very excited when I found this great website about surf in the Alicante region that has great information about events, weather conditions, places to surf, videos, and much more. Unfortunately, it is only in Spanish now but we hope that they will soon offer us an English version so all those visitors could get a head start on their surf itinerary.

For more information go to their website surfalicante and see what I’m talking about.
