La Playa San Juan Alicante in google

Published by under La Playa San Juan

playasanjuanmap.jpg

I started this blog because I live in Playa San Juan Alicante and I wanted to talk about my town and our little community but as I’m starting to learn, there is not much documented about this little town. Part of the City of Alicante and in whole part of the Valencian community…We are way down in the map.

This blog pretends to change all that and put La Playa San Juan on the internet map. We will be creating a directory of all stores, restaurants, health centers, schools, everything you will need to know about our city.

It will be a slow process but soon everyone will know everything there is to know about Playa San Juan. If you come across this site and have information to give us, please contact us and send us pictures or any information you want to provide.

“Quidam”, one of the most spectacular shows from the famed cirque du soleil will perform in Alicante from July 24th until the 31st of August. If you have not seen any of their shows, I highly recommend it. A night you will never forget.

Contortionist, acrobats, trapeze artist, even human pyramids all perform at the rhythm of music. The performers seem unreal as if fairies from another world. The lighting and costumes complete the magic and you will be in awe for hours.

“Quidam” consists of about 50 different artist from around 12 countries. It was premiered in 1996 and has already been seen by more than eight million persons around the world. The company will set up their traditional Blue and Yellow carp that has a capacity for more than 2,500 spectators is the Rabasa area.

You can purchase tickets from the official web site at Cirque du Soleil .

Sidi hotel in Playa San Juan

Published by under Hotels,spas

One of the most beautiful hotels in the Playa San Juan aside from the Hotel Hesperia has to be the Sidi San Juan. This spectacular 5 star front line resort is a welcome to a dream. Located in the heart of Cabo Huertas, it is surrounded by beautiful gardens and more than 200 palm trees.

But aside from everything I can tell you my favorite part is the Spa! There is currently a 2 x1 special which started March 23rd and will run through the 31st of May 2008. The package includes sauna, steam bath and hydro massage pool (with sea views), you can also add a 4-course dinner with a bottle of wine..sounds great!!

If you are not up for the Spa, a nice cocktail at the bar overlooking the sea just about sundown will melt your heart.

I found this great shot of La Playa San Juan in flicker by jrgcastro taken from the Santa Barbara Castle in Alicante. In a single frame we could see the little town of La Playa San Juan as seen from the outside world.

A small town that is growing and growing more and more every day.

One of the landmarks in La Playa San Juan has to be Casa Pepe. This home style restaurant ran by a husband and wife team offer a home cooked meal with a friendly atmosphere. They go to the market daily to make sure that the food they serve is fresh. Not only popular with the locals but tourists love the attention and authentic touch of all their meals.

They serve one of the best paellas in the area, and awesome appeticers such as “queso fresco” (fresh cheese), “tomates raf con sardinas” (raf tomatoes with sardines), serrano jam, and many, many more delicious treats. Eat all you want but leave room for desert and coffee as well as the after dinner liquor.

You will need to call in advance for reservations or call in for take out..
