La Playa San Juan

The other day we found a great place for us (the adults) and them (the children). It is called Nereida Heladería and Cafetería. This family owned bussiness is a small cafeteria and ice cream shop with the added plus of a children’s indoor entertainment center.

This cafeteria offers delicious home made ice cream as well as your typical cafeteria goodies and the best part of all a FREE child’s play area with the purchase of and consumption item. We were delighted to find this spot and were very pleased with the excellent customer service and attention we received.

Nereida also offers birthday party packages so you could celebrate your children’s party’s for a low price. They have different menu options to choose from all with cake and sweets included.

Decaramelo Bakery is a brand new establishment in Playa San Juan, offering delicious treats! With an outside and inside sitting area this is by far one of my favorites places to go for either breakfast or merienda!!

They offer:

• Pastries: wide variety of different assorted sweets
• Cakes
• Cake decorations
• Sandwiches
• Chocolates
• Empanadas
• Ice Cream
• Coffee/ all sorts of drinks

They also offer “Fiesta Packages” so you can just call in and pick up all the food you need for a party. From their website you can also shop online and pick-up at any of their locations. Decaramelo is a professional bakery with a homemade taste.

BOL coffee & Restaurant offers warm and friendly service and it’s excellent as a meeting place. A popular place where you can go and meet your friends, enjoy a coffee or a great lunch or dinner and know that you will be taken care of.

Their original dishes include, crispy suckling pig, hemisphere foie with roasted apple ice cream , chocolate volcano. They are open daily with the exception of Sunday evenings and Mondays (except on holidays).

Club Stadio Sports Center is located in calle arpon close to the Cabo Huertas centro de salud in Playa San Juan. I love this place because they have a babysitting service and a great ball place for the kids, where you can also celebrate birthdays. I also love the outdoor cafeteria where you can hang out with friends before or after your workout. They have a small store where you can buy anything sport related you need in a hurry. They also have a hair salon and physiotherapists!

They offer a different variety of classes such as belly dance, ballet, yoga, latin dance, pilates, cardio pump, biking and swimming classes to name a few..and you have all the equipment you need to lift weights, bicycle, and much more.. A soccer field is also on site as well as paddle and tennis courts. A prefect place to come together with friends and stay healthy at the same time.

Fontana is a great place to get things done and to meet people. Everything you need is right there, and that is why most mornings after dropping off the kids in school I head over there to meet friends for coffee and take advantage and run some errands.

Today I had breakfast with friends in the little coffee shop/restaurant called El Abuelo de Fontana (The grandfather of Fontana), I didn’t see the Abuelo there today but I did have a great coffee with great service from our regular waitress. the outside sitting area is comfortable and allows you to just sit there and chat all morning long…not good sometimes when you have a lot to do..
